Halifax Nova Scotia Wedding Photographer Jeff Babineau bio picture

About the Photographer.

What can I say? I love my job . noI really Do love creating photos . It is a flaw and a blessing. But I think balances out quite nicely.
I have been making images since I was 12, but got very serious about photography while working in a local photo store for over 10 years (that’s right folks if Nikon or Canon built it, I got to touch it at least once.... or at least drool over some of it) .
My main love is working with people. Weddings , engagements and the occasional model . I start with no plans and let the shoot evolve naturally with the help of the people I photograph.
If you are up to the challenge, I will create something different and very cool for you.
Just tell me when and where and I am there.

Halifax, Truro, New Glasgow Boudoir Photography ~ A special gift, just for him.

Well I have branched out into the elegant , artistic and always sexy world of boudoir photography. This is a style of photography that I will be offering to any past clients or future clients such as brides to be , girlfriends or anyone who just wants to feel good about themselves.  The goal that I have with offering this style of photography is to make everyone feel beautiful without the typical boudoir cheese . The images will be elegant and intimate but at the same time classic.

A great gift for weddings or valentines day.

If you are interested in seeing our “For his eyes only” albums  or booking a session please email me.

Antigonish Nova Scotia Wedding photography ~ Wedding Mega post

I have been really bad lately for not blogging images but this means that I get to post two awesome weddings  on the same post.

Wedding # 1 Kristi and Stephen

I never have visited Barneys River before and I was not disapointed in the increddible locations we were able to find.I want to go back very soon!!!

Kristi, and her laid back attitude was a photographers dream. We felt like part of your family.

The old Barn Kicked A$$ .  Thank you for toughing out the black-flies to help me create some wowzers in photo form.

Wedding # 2  Kate and Andrew

Second week in Antigonish. We love the St. FX chapel as well as the whole beautiful campus.  Too many photo opportunities to list .  These guys had great ideas and let me flex my creative muscel on some of the walkways and paths throughout the campus.

Kristi was one of the 7 bridesmaids in Kate and Andrews wedding ,so we had that same warm inviting feeling from her and everyones smiling face.

Props to the staff at the Morrison Hall for the fantastic reception.

There are only a few sneak peek images here because  I  want to keep Kate and Andrew hanging on a bit and wanting more. I am evil like that.

I call it “wedding mega post”.

Enjoy

More blog post to come before I leave for Boston !!!

Nova Scotia Wedding Photography ~ Lisa & Scott Sneak Peek

Lisa and Scott are two people that I really have to give credit to for being super brave.  Why? Not only did they get married this summer and planned everything perfectly (including hiring me ) but they also were in the middle of building their dream house which they will be moving into this week. Now anyone that knows the stress of planning a wedding and added stresses about building a house knows … most couples would have crushed under that type of pressure. But not Scott and Lisa. They are truly amazing . Both of them were happy and smiling the whole time and very much in love.  Being very close friends of mine, it was a pure pleasure to share this special day with them. And I am looking forward to the housewarming at the new house with all the new appliances that we just helped install.

Here are just a few sneak peek images to keep you smiling.

enjoy.

Jackie ~ Nova Scotia Maternity photographer

I am very sorry to all my blog fans for not updating for over a week. Here are 2 images that I really loved from our session with Jackie and Tony who had a beutiful baby only 2 days after this maternity session.

Underwater Maternity photography ~ Trish and Jane

As I have always strived to offer something different to my clients , When we were in Las Vegas photographing Trish and Ian’s Maternity photos, Trish came up with an awesome idea to do some maternity photos in the pool at the MGM grand.  She had a small point and shoot camera that could shoot under the water so we tried a few and got some really cool stuff. But something was missing…. Resolution. I wanted to make large art prints. So I made the “plunge” and bought an underwater housing for my Canon 5D .

BEST THING EVER!!

Ian and Trish have a pool . I got the case. Trish is still pregnant. WIN WIN!!

BONUS  29 degree day , sunny , beautiful!!!  When doing our first underwater tests a friend of Trish and Ian who was also pregnant Jane was visiting and was a natural at holding poses underwater.

Not only did I get to try a new piece of photography equipment on a very beutiful sunny day but I got to photograph two Pregnant ladies underwater.

Here are just a few of our first session we shot .  More to come when the weather gets better. These sessions will soon be offered to any client that is interested.

And BTW the camera stayed dry!!

enjoy

June 23, 2010 - 9:03 pm Sandra Flemming - This makes me want to get pregnant again! I would soooo do this...... right up my alley or swimming pool as the case may be LOL...... Absolutely beautiful!

July 8, 2010 - 7:04 pm Tania Schumacher - These are really cool Jeff! Great job! What a fun shoot!

High School Senior ~ Chelsea ~ Nova Scotia Photographer

Away we go with our “High school senior “(Grad) season, I was invited to my old neighborhood of Onslow Mountain to photograph the lovely Chelsea in her prom dress at her parents house.  As you can tell she loves horses and has a beautiful barn and pasture at the top of Onslow mountain .

The evening was the first full day of sun we had in a few weeks and mother nature gave us the added bonus of a breathtaking sunset.

I have to give a shout out to everyone involved in helping with the shoot (Sherry and John) who braved the black flies with me. Thanks for holding the “flash on a stick” John.

Funny thing about being a photographer is that I don’t need bug spray when shooting such incredible people and scenes because my brain gets fixated on the colors and sheer beauty of the location that I do not notice that I am covered head to toe with thousands of black flies. Mind over matter I guess.

Here are just a few of the images that we were able to create with Chelsea and her horse.

Enjoy.

PS: I love my job!

June 16, 2010 - 7:18 pm Sue Stone - Now these are awesome, a girl and her horse!

June 16, 2010 - 8:00 pm Sherry Groves - JEFF! Incredible lighting, especially in the barn! Chelsea and Sox look gorgeous (of course!). Hard to imagine that we have scenery like this in the Merry Times - looks like something out of the Wild West. You should definitely do more of this as you've really captured the essence of a girl and her horse.

June 26, 2010 - 9:36 pm Pam Hynes - More great shots! Love them all!
